  • Handover of Garden Toys to The Milestone School

  • The client requested a holder to make it easier to grip a water bottle. He can now take a drink without assistance

  • The client wished to use a redundant electric wheelchair when gardening. The drive-wheel tyres were changed to give increased traction on the sloping terrain. The existing upholstered seat was removed and replaced by a moulded plastic seat from a school chair. This was mounted on a sub-frame which was then bolted to the existing seat mounts. This lowered the seat height by 4 - 5 inches. A lap belt with length adjustment was fitted. The client was satisfied and will now obtain long handled gardening tools.

  • Gell Liner Applicator with Gell Liner in position. This enables the client to put on his prosthetic leg with out assistance, and using only one hand

  • This photo shows the back rest raised to allow the main toilet seat to be raised or lowered as required.

  • The client required a back rest for a toilet. The rest should be capable of being used both when the main toilet seat is up and down. Therefore the back rest needed to be capable of being folded out of the way to allow the seat to be raised and lowered.

  • The bed-bound client required a box for stowage and also to support her laptop. Special requirements were for the box to be moved out of the way when no in use (as shown) and also for the angle to be fully adjustable. A special locking swivel was made to support the box.

  • This picture shows a close-up of one of the activity centres

  • A sophisticated activity centre for a child with severe attention problems. A portable unit was designed with a number of switches and buttons that produce a variety of sounds and flashing lights. Sliding doors were required to hide the unit from the child when it was not required - to reduce any temptation to play with the unit all the time.

  • The client suffered MS and neeeded foot support on her battery scooter, and also to prevent her left leg moving backwards during a muscle spasm. A thick rubber garden tile with a car carpet covering was installed and a wooden block fitted to ensure her foot stayed forward at all times

  • The client required a bedside table designed to help him sleep at night. The kitchen table top was removed and a special top fitted with guards to prevent his pillow falling off

  • The client had both legs amputated and was moved to a bungalow, but he could not see out of the window, so needed his recliner chair raised by 100mm. This was done with the wooden plinth construction shown in the photo, secured to his chair, and he can now see people walking past his sitting room window

  • This photo shows the gutter attachments in use

  • In order to relieve pressure on the clients arms, special gutters were attached to the zimmer frame. A simple fixing allowed for easy removal or adjustment.
